Radish was captured by Magpie, they do have a nice gloss after all. Will they get out ?

Escape of the Radish  is a Point&Click borrowing lots from other entries of the genre. For most of our members this was our first jam. s0lst1ce had a bit more experience, this being their third attempt at a jam.

To get out you must find Magpie's treasure, scattered around their lounge, and also Squirrel's bedroom ! A true hoarder ! You probably won't see Squirrel though, a flood has made their bedroom rather unusable...

Did I mention Radish can time-travel to the retro past ? Anyway, good luck collecting Magpie's buttons.

If you're stuck feel free to leave a comment for the solutions. I'll admit not all the enigmas are... logical.

Overall we had fun with doing this jam. First time making a point & click. Using a navmesh was cool, so was using lights. Great new things to play with ! I wish I (s0lst1ce) has time to make maps (specular, normal, etc.) too. Maybe next time!

How to play:

Click to move Radish on the levels !

Change the period of time by clicking on the upper right button.

You can pickup some of the items, it's kind of trial and error on this regard (forgot to change the cursor when hovering over an interactible).

Some of the furniture can have an effect when given an object. Do so by drag and dropping from the inventory.

Items can be combined by dropping one onto another in the inventory!

We're tried to iron it out as we could. There are some known bugs (mostly visual) though:

  • the broken box still contains the screwdriver after it's been taken
  • the last frame of the idle animation has a weird shadow/artifact
  • no specular/normal map so everything is a bit flat
  • no shadows
  • you can interact with furniture from anywhere when using an object
  • you can appear on unavigable positions when switching periods
  • you can move through the record player + some y-ordering issues

If you encounter any other, especially a game-breaking one, please report. I'll try to help, and maybe publish a bugfix if it's game-breaking.
